SMS verification codes are an optional security feature of ShelterSync. They are never required to create an account, sign in, or use the service — every user can verify with an authenticator app instead.

SMS is optional — it's never required to sign in or use ShelterSync, and you can verify with an authenticator app instead. Codes will be sent to the phone on your profile.
You can sign in and use ShelterSync without checking the box — sign in without SMS.
Enrollment completes in Profile & security after you sign in, where this same consent is collected and recorded. Codes are sent only to the phone number on your own profile — this page never collects a phone number. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message or by disabling SMS on the same screen, and keep full access to ShelterSync.
